Roko Island is a family-owned and operated island getaway run by the Tchen Pan family. A former pearl farm, offering the Torres Strait’s only unique eco-style glamping experience, since 2015.

Located just 20 minutes by boat from the Seisia wharf, Cape York and 30 minutes from the most Northern tip of Australia.

Guests can enjoy fishing trips, 2 to 3 Island Cruise, scenic helicopter rides, day visits to the island, mainland waterfall tours, cultural and historical tours and fully customised guided boat tours.

Roko Island also offers the region’s only comfort cruise aboard a 53-foot motor cruiser with tailored cruise experiences.

From the moment you arrive, from the jetty, the bar to the island’s facilities, everything is thoughtfully crafted using sustainable, recycled and locally sourced materials that blend effortlessly with the natural surroundings.

There are a total of 8 eco-style glamp tents nestled in nature, overlooking stunning ocean views. Ensuite option available with some of our tents. 

Roko Island minimises environmental impact by using solar power, rainwater harvesting and an island dam system.

We follow sustainable fishing practices by keeping only what we need. Our experienced chef caters for a range of dietary requirements. Guests can enjoy a ‘Catch & Cook’ experience, where their fresh catch is prepared and served gourmet style- delicious, and straight from the ocean to your plate.
