Located in the Torres Strait, on a small private island named Roko Island, Roko Pearls Australia Pty Ltd is a pearl farm owned and run by the Tchen Pan family.
Founded originally in the early 90s by John Saltmarch and his family, Roko Pearls has been one among a few pearl farms producing White South Sea Pearls directly in the location where the first cultured pearl was born, the Torres Strait in Queensland.
It's new owner Yves Tchen Pan has been taking over this legacy like a few others, of maintaining this status of "pearl producer" from the birth place of the cultured pearl.
Originally from French Polynesia, Yves Tchen Pan brought with him over 30 years of experience in the pearl industry.
Today we are also focusing on tourism. We are welcoming guests on Roko Island to share our passion of growing pearls and to share our little piece of paradise.
